How It Works

Understanding the Veilbound workflow, creative freedom, and expectations during Phase I.

Phase I through early Phase II structure

Working Alongside Me

You won't be working for me—you'll be working alongside me. This is a collaborative empire, not a hierarchy. While I founded the studio and guide the vision, everyone who joins is a co-creator, not an employee.

That said, there are expectations. If I need something created for our core IPs—a character design, an animation sequence, a soundtrack—I'll ask. And when I do, you contribute. But you're free to interpret my requests creatively. I'm not micromanaging—I'm collaborating.

Veilbound Media Group

If you apply as an artist, animator, or writer, you'll be working under the Veilbound Media Group sub-brand—our visual storytelling division focused on web comics, manga scripts, and pioneering Web Manga (manga created specifically for digital platforms).

This is where sequential art and visual narratives come alive for all Veilbound IPs.

Contributing to Core IPs

When I say "contribute to the core IPs," here's what that means:

For Artists

If I need character designs, illustrations, or cover art for Wraithbound, Unexpected Company, or any other IP, I'll request it. You'll have creative freedom to interpret the brief and bring your style to the work. Outside of requests, you're free to draw characters, create fan art of the universes, or design whatever you want under the Veilbound banner.

For Animators

When I need animation work—trailers, character showcases, scene adaptations—I'll ask. You interpret the vision and bring it to life. Between requests, you can animate scenes you're passionate about, create test animations of characters, or experiment with the universes however you like.

For Writers

You'll work as a co-writer, following outlines and writing styles I provide. You have creative freedom to interpret within those guidelines, but the structure and tone are set by me. If I need worldbuilding documents, side stories, or lore expansions, I'll request your contribution. Outside of requests, you're free to write whatever inspires you under the Veilbound banner.

For Musicians & Other Creatives

If I need soundtracks, theme music, or other creative work for the IPs, I'll ask. Otherwise, create what you want—original music inspired by the worlds, experimental projects, anything that fits the Veilbound ethos.

Bottom Line: Artists, animators, and writers working under Veilbound Media Group follow my creative direction while interpreting it in their own way. This isn't restrictive—it's collaborative sovereignty with clear structure.

What I'm Looking For Right Now

At Least 1 Artist

Strong portfolio in anime-style character designs or detailed illustrations. Must be able to bring complex characters to visual life.

10 Animators

I need a team, not a single person carrying all the weight. Multiple animators means distributed workload and diverse creative input.

Of course, other roles are still welcome—writers, musicians, developers, designers. But artists and animators are the immediate priority.

Intellectual Property & Ownership

This is important, so let me be crystal clear about how ownership works. This isn't about control—it's about protecting the IPs and ensuring long-term sustainability.

Work Related to Veilbound IPs

Anything you create that's directly related to Veilbound's intellectual properties (Wraithbound, Unexpected Company, Convergence Wars, Re:Shade, etc.) is owned by Figures until Veilbound becomes a legal LLC. Once we're a registered entity, all IP-related work is owned by the studio itself.

This includes character designs, illustrations, animations, stories, worldbuilding documents—anything that uses or expands the core universes. You'll always be credited for your contributions, but the rights belong to the studio.

Original Work Under the Banner

If you create original work under the Veilbound banner (not related to our core IPs), it's owned by Figures/the studio while you're working with us. But when you leave, you can take all your original work with you. It's yours to keep.

However, anything tied to Veilbound's IPs stays with the studio—even after you leave. Those universes are protected intellectual property, and they remain part of the Veilbound legacy.

Why This Matters:

Until Veilbound is a legal entity, I (Figures) am personally the studio. That means I'm responsible for protecting the IPs, managing rights, and ensuring everything stays intact. Once we formalize as an LLC, the studio itself becomes the owner. This structure protects the work, the legacy, and everyone involved.

To Be Clear: You keep credit for everything you create. You keep your original work when you leave. But Veilbound's universes and anything tied to them stay with the studio. This is standard IP protection, not control. It's about preserving what we're building together.

How Long Does This Last?

This structure applies for all of Phase I and into early Phase II—until the studio starts making actual, sustainable money. That's when everything changes.

Once we're profitable, we transition into a more traditional paid structure. Contributors get compensated, roles become more defined, and the studio scales up. But until then, this is the reality: passion-driven collaboration with no pay.

Be Honest With Yourself: If you can't commit to unpaid work for an indefinite period (could be months, could be years), this isn't for you. And that's okay. But if you believe in the vision and want to be part of the foundation, this is your chance.
